GAYLORD, MI — Aaron Christensen, Garth Kaufman, Ross Martin and Matthew Piche earned spots in the Winter X Games 10 field by winning their respective non-points, invitational events Saturday at the Michigan Snocross PowerSports Snowmobile Tour event at the Otsego Club and Resort. Four invitational events were held, with only the winners advancing.
Christensen (Ski-Doo), Kaufman (Arctic Cat), Martin (Polaris), and Piche (Arctic Cat) are now eligible to compete in Winter X Games 10, being staged in Aspen/Snowmass, CO Jan. 28-31.
Sarah McQuestion (Vern Johnson Sons Tree Farm/Ski-Doo) won the Pro Women final, while longtime WPSA racer Earl Reimer (Blair Morgan Racing/Ski-Doo) edged Kirk Hibbert (Arctic Cat) to win the Pro Veteran final.
Other final winners were: Sport Open, Kyle Strandlund (Polaris); Sport Stock, Josh West (Stud Boy/Arctic Cat); 300cc, Justen Timpe (Ski-Doo); Junior 10-13, Logan Christian (Christian Brothers Racing/Arctic Cat); Junior 14-15, Jason Deneweth (Deneweth’s Greenhouses/Ski Doo); and Junior 16-17, J.P. Price (Stud Boy/Ski-Doo).
