Brian Blaauwendraat swept to victory in both Pro Superbike races and the Pro 600 Supersport feature at the opening round of the Atlantic Roadracing League season at Atlantic Motorsport Park last weekend.
But despite his impressive results, the Truro, NS racer told local reporters he wasn't completely happy with his pace aboard his new Pro Cycle / Atlantic Honda Dealers-backed Honda CBR600RR.
“I’m not up to speed on it,” Blaauwendraat told the Enfield Weekly Press. “It’s at about where the old bike was. I just have to get in more weekends and competitions to get adjusted to it. I’m definitely happy with finishing first on it.”
Ron Munroe was victorious in both Amateur Superbike races at AMP and Scott Redden topped Justin Ford in Amateur 600 Sport Bike action. Other winners were Darin Marshall in P4, Bob Geldart in Vintage Heavyweight, Blaise Fougere in Vintage Middleweight and Lightweight, Charles Boyd in Lightweight GP, Jack Robaczews in 125 Motard, and Gary Fulton and Fougere in Sportsman.
Sunny weather greeted racers and fans on Saturday but Sunday's action was marred by rain.
The ARL season continues at AMP June 20-21.
