International women's conference days away

From the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada

MARKHAM, ON - The Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada's (MCC's) inaugural International Women Riders Congress and Festival begins on Thursday at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, ON. Motorcycling is the common ground but there's nothing common about the women and men who will gather to celebrate the achievements of women riders, learn new skills and grow the sport.

Opening ceremonies take place at 6:00pm and will include Mayor Claude Doughty, Honorable Tony Clement, MP, Tigra Tsujikawa, Special Events and Marketing Manager from the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA).

Themed 'One World, One Ride' the action-packed four-day event will offer concurrent innovative sessions that address body, mind and spirit - from seminars, advanced skills training, charity events, demo rides, entertainment and networking. The event caps off with an off-road charity trail ride on Sunday.

All activities are intended to recognize that by working together, we can make a difference, not just in our motorcycling communities but beyond that - into the communities where we live, work and play.

The IWCF is presented by Honda Canada. The event has also received generous support from FedNor and Ontario Tourism.

MCC is a national federation of rider organizations in Canada and serves the interests of all riders. Its purpose is to unite motorcyclists and preserve, protect and promote motorcycling. With more than 245 member groups, as well as individual members, the MCC speaks for tens of thousands of riders. Its Women Riders Council was formed in 2006 to address the specific interests of women riders in Canada.
