Deeley renews CMDRA support

CONCORD, ON -- As in past decades, Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada has renewed its commitment to support Canadian drag racing in 2011 through the Canadian Motorcycle Drag Racing Association (CMDRA).

The CMDRA boasts 14 classes of racing, five of which are sponsored by Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada: the Screamin’ Eagle Stock XL (883) Series, the Screamin’ Eagle V Rod Destroyer Series (East & West); the Screamin’ Eagle Pro Dragster Series; the Screamin’ Eagle Pro Fuel Series, and the Screamin’ Eagle Top Fuel Series.

The CMDRA is fully sanctioned by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and was originally formed by a group of West Coast motorcycle drag racers back in the early nineties. It has grown to over 500 members and hosts several “motorcycle only” drag race events across the country.

“We are very pleased to see the increasing popularity of high performance motorcycle sports such as drag racing, where even the inexperienced can enjoy the adrenalin rush within a safe and controlled environment," said Clint Rabb, Executive Director of the CMDRA. "The 2011 CMDRA season is already panning out to be a very busy one, with a great mix of highly acclaimed veterans, as well as some passionate [beginners] who are eager to prove themselves.

"Given the variety of classes that racers can compete in, and catering to a very wide range of budgets, we have made drag racing very accessible in Canada. With racing enthusiasts, racers, supportive friends and family involved, we expect a strong turn-out at our CMDRA events this season.”
