American Honda announces release of 2012 GL1800 Gold Wing

The new 2012 model year GL1800 Gold Wing will go on sale in the USA in May 2011.

2012 Honda GL1800 Gold Wing

The 2012 Gold Wing  includes updated and innovative GPS navigation system, a built-in MP3/iPod interface for a new SRS CS Auto™ technology surround-sound.  The 2012 Gold Wing brings: upgraded styling, increased luggage capacity, greater wind and weather protection, revised suspension settings.

2012 Honda GL1800 Gold Wing

The first opportunity to view the new model will be from 25-27 February at the International Motorcycle Show in Greenville, South Carolina.

The European version of the GL1800 Gold Wing will go on sale in time for the 2012 season.

29 Years of Honda Gold Wing: A Picture Gallery

Honda began selling the Super Cub motorcycle internationally in 1958. In 1975, Honda introduced the Gold Wing. It has continued in production ever since.

We present here a look at Honda Gold Wing models from the first model in 1975 to the present as provided in pictures submitted by Motorcycle Views members. A gallery called "29 Years of Honda Gold Wing" is provided that gives a picture and description for each model year from 1975 to 2003.

Motorcycle Touring - Take a Long Trip on Your Motorcycle

The dictionary defines a tour as "a journey for business, pleasure or education often involving a series of stops and ending at the starting point." Thus a tour is a complete circuit.

Motorcycle touring has always been a part of motorcycling. Early riders wanted to jump on their motorcycles and ride to see what was over the next hill. Of course the roads weren't too good in those days and travel could be slow. Bill Stermer in his book, Motorcycle Touring and Travel: A Handbook of Travel by Motorcycle, says:

"The bike on which most people choose to tour tends to be the one they own at the time."

This was certainly true early on before the advent of the heavyweight touring motorcycles of the last twenty-five years. The introduction of the Honda Gold Wing has changed all that. Read more.

29 Years of Honda Gold Wing - A Gallery

A gallery called "29 Years of Gold Wing" is provided that gives a picture and description for each model year from 1975 to 2003.

I want to update this gallery with new pictures of Gold Wings. If you own a Gold Wing, please consider submitting a picture and description of it for the gallery.
