AURORA, IL -- Former 125cc Supercross champion Tim Ferry has confirmed his participation in the THQ World Supercross GP series.
The 29-year-old Floridian will race a factory Yamaha at the season opener in Toronto this weekend and at the following round in Vancouver Dec. 11.
"I've been injured for the better part of last year and I need to get back on the race track and the races in Toronto and Vancouver provide the competition and track design that I need," said Ferry in a release from series promoter Clear Channel Entertainment.
Other riders committed for the series are three-time Supercross champion Ricky Carmichael, former World Motocross champion Sebastien Tortelli, defending World Supercross champion Heath Voss and 2001 125cc Eastern Regional AMA Supercross champ Travis Pastrana.
