TORONTO, ON -- The Vintage Road Racing Association (VRRA) has unveiled a four-race schedule to celebrate its 25th anniversary season in 2005. Special events to mark the milestone will be held at each event.
After a Tune Up Day at Cayuga June 4 or 5 the season will commence in earnest with the Quinte TT at Shannonville Motorsport Park June 19-20. That will be followed by the Quebec GP at Autodrome St-Eustache July 23-24, the Vintage Festival at Mosport International Raceway Aug. 19-21 and the Runway Romp at the North Bay Airport Sept. 10-11.
"We are planning to make our 25th anniversary a stellar year for vintage and classic road racing in Canada with special races at each event to celebrate this Silver Jubilee," said VRRA president Ralf Scholtes. "Invitations are going out to all racing organizations who may wish to participate with us in our 25th year of vintage and classic racing and we invite any individual riders to come and enjoy the fun."
Formed in 1980 following a race at Mosport in 1979, the VRRA has grown to approximately 400 members in Ontario, Quebec, the Maritimes and the U.S.
