Two-time Canadian champion Pascal Picotte is still recovering in hospital in Alabama after injuries he sustained at the second/third round of AMA Superbike competition at Barber Motorsport Park on Sunday.
The Picotte Performance Yamaha rider was one of the fastest bikes on the track for Sunday morning's 600 Supersport class practice session on an almost dry circuit before hitting a wet spot on the track and crashing his YZF-R6.
Picotte's injuries include a broken big toe on his left (shifter) foot and several cracked vertebrae in his back, along with unspecified injuries to both knees. Until talking with his own doctor once back in Canada, Picotte won't comment on his recovery time or if he will be able to ride at the Parts Canada Superbike Championship season opener May 21.
Picotte was expected to be released from hospital on Tuesday.
