New Ontario racing group

A new regional motorcycle racing series is reportedly starting up in southern Ontario. Dubbed the Southern Ontario Association of Racing, or SOAR, the series will be based out of Toronto Motorsport Park, near the town of Cayuga.

The series describes itself as being geared toward novice club racing, with classes for Superbike, 600, Twins, Formula Two Stroke, Clubman Challenge (air-cooled), Lost Era, Vintage, Lightweights, Rookie Cup, Old Boys Club and Sidecars.

The series will also offer a race school every Friday before a round.

Races for 2009 are slated for May 15-17, June 12-14, July 10-12, Aug. 14-16 and Sept. 11-13.
