From the Canadian Motorsports Expo
TORONTO, Ont. -- Competition of the two-wheeled variety will play a featured role at this weekend’s Canadian Motorsports Expo, which runs from Friday through Sunday at Toronto’s International Centre.
A selection of motorcycle racing machinery, top riders and other motorcycle-related displays will be front and centre as the CME presents everything from the world of motorsports.
“What makes the Canadian Motorsport Expo such a great show is it encompasses every form of motorsport imaginable,” said show president Glenn Butt. “Our goal is to leave no stone unturned in giving our visitors a complete racing experience.”
Inside Motorcycles magazine, Canada’s source for motorcycle news, and Inside Moto-X, Canada’s MX Authority, will present the Winners’ Circle, a collection of bikes from a variety of racing disciplines.
The display will include the RMP Motorsports Suzuki GSX-R1000 Superbike campaigned by Hamilton, Ont.’s Ross Millson in the Parts Canada Superbike Championship, the Honda RS125 Steven Nickerson, also from Hamilton, rode to the Amateur 125 GP RACE SuperSeries regional title last summer, and the Honda CRF250 ridden by Ontario Women’s Motocross Champion Casondra Greene of Scotland, Ont.
Among the other exhibits, representatives of the Parts Canada Superbike Championship will be handing out their 2009 series poster and selling copies of the 2008 official series DVD and the CMX will be promoting its 2009 motocross racing program.
“There is a lot of great motorcycle competition in Canada and specifically in southwestern Ontario,” said John Hopkins, editor of Inside Motorcycles. “This is a tremendous opportunity to further promote the sport and its competitors and we think the fans will like what they see this weekend.”
Heading into its third year, the Canadian Motorsports Expo continues to grow. Presented by Lucas Oil Canada, the show is now ‘Powered by Inside Track’ as Inside Track Communications – publishers of Inside Track Motorsport News, Inside Motorcycles and Inside MotoX – has joined forces with Glenn Butt Productions to produce and promote the CME.
In addition to rows of booths, displays and racing vehicles, show-goers will be able to see a pair of world famous NASCAR stock cars, presented by NASCAR Canada. The #48 Lowe’s Chevy of three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson and the #88 AMP Chevy of Dale Earnhardt Jr., one of the most popular drivers in NASCAR, will be on display.
The CME will also feature seminars and forums, giving show attendees an opportunity to interact with industry leaders and experts from the world of Canadian motorsports. Autograph sessions will let people get up close and personal with racing stars from across the motorsports spectrum.
