Hungarian GP cancelled

Following consultation with the FIM, the scheduled 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix has been removed from the MotoGP World Championship calendar.

The request to postpone the inaugural race at the Balatonring circuit until 2010, owing to the delay in construction of the track, was accepted by the FIM.

There are no plans to replace the race with another Grand Prix event, reducing the calendar for the year to 17 rounds.

The revised calendar is as follows:
April 12 Qatar - Losail
April 26 Japan - Motegi
May 3 Spain - Jerez
May 17 France - Le Mans
May 31 Italy - Mugello
June 14 Catalunya - Catalunya
June 27 Netherlands - Assen
July 5 United States - Laguna Seca
July 19 Germany - Sachsenring
July 26 Great Britain - Donington Park
Aug. 16 Czech Republic - Brno
Aug. 30 Indianapolis - Indianapolis
Sept. 6 San Marino & Riviera di Rimini - Misano
Oct. 4 Portugal - Estoril
Oct. 18 Australia - Phillip Island
Oct. 25 Malaysia - Sepang
Nov. 8 Valencia Ricardo Tormo - Valencia
