Pollard featured at Spring Show

DORCHESTER, ON -- Geoff Pollard and the 1500 horsepower Pollard NitroSports Top Fuel Motorcycle he pilots, will take centre stage as a featured part of the 2009 Toronto International Spring Motorcycle Show hosted at the International Center on April 4-5.

The event, which will feature new motorcycle dealer displays, product vendors, information resources for new riders, custom bikes and a swap meet component, will attract nearly 20,000 visitors throughout its two-day duration.

The date of the event combined with the rapidly approaching start of the 2009 racing season did present some obstacles for team co-owner Greg Pollard in planning the team's preseason preparations.

"It definitely requires some adjustments to our schedule in order to get the bike prepared to race in 2009," he said. "We just couldnt turn down an offer to be included in such a big event, bringing our sponsors a significant amount of exposure they wouldnt have otherwise received."

The Pollard NitroSports team debuted a new Top Fuel Motorcycle in 2008 and proceeded to reset both ends of the Canadian record with a 6.08 elapsed time, 231 miles per hour blast last November. The team enters 2009 with one goal in mind, eclipse the six-second barrier and become the first Canadian team to do so.
