Roberts repeats as USGPRU champion

From Roberts Racing

DARTMOUTH, NS – The RAT Racing team has another USGPRU 250cc championship title to celebrate as Adam Roberts recently wrapped up the 2009 national title when he rode his Yamaha TZ250 to a comfortable third place finish at Palm Beach International Raceway in Palm Beach, FL.

“I really can’t believe we were able to do it again.” Roberts commented. “To win the national title two years in a row feels absolutely incredible. We had a fantastic season traveling to some of the country’s best tracks, and I had some great races as well. It feels like the season just started.”

Aside from competing in the USGPRU national series, Roberts also secured a wildcard entry into the Indianapolis MotoGP, racing his Yamaha against the world’s best 250cc racers. With a massive effort from the RAT team, Roberts finished an impressive 19th, adding himself to a very short list of Canadians to ever race in the world championship.

“I always wanted to race in the world championship. To compete against the guys you see on television every weekend is a huge honour, and of course, a huge effort,” Roberts stated. “The only problem is that now I want to race on that level every weekend. I really enjoyed the challenge, and I feel that on equal machinery, we could be competitive with those guys.

“This really has been the best year of my life. I couldn’t have done any of it without the tremendous effort from the whole RAT Racing team. Every time I’m on the track these guys give me the best bike possible, and I just try to show my appreciation by riding the best that I can. I can’t thank them enough for their support over the last two years.”

Roberts' 2009 sponsors include Remote Access Technology (RAT), Pro Cycle (procycleonline.com), Kimpex, Parts Canada, Ipone and Fox Eyewear.
