Tessier new president of MCC

From the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada

MARKHAM, ON - The Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada (MCC) has announced that Daniel H. Tessier has been named the new president of the association, effective Jan. 17.

Tessier has about 25 years of progressive experience in association management, and possesses a solid background in strategic communications, advocacy, government relations and membership services. He is recognized as a leader and consensus builder for his work in national grassroots advocacy and government relations. Able to communicate fluently in French and English, his success is rooted in a commitment to fostering and maintaining productive, collaborative relationships with all stakeholders, including government, suppliers and members.

"In addition to being an avid off-road and road motorcyclist, Daniel's proven record of achievements in advancing issues that matter to members will be invaluable as the MCC continues to grow and provides value-added services and products to motorcyclists throughout Canada," said Liz Jansen, Board Chair. "Daniel will guide the Board's efforts to increase membership, enhance the member benefits package, strengthen stakeholder outreach, improve our effectiveness as an advocacy organization, and raise the MCC's profile."

Tessier most recently served as President and CEO of the Geomatics Industry Association of Canada, based in Ottawa. He also served as Vice President, Public Affairs and Traffic Safety for the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA). In this capacity, he was responsible for a number of high-profile traffic safety and advocacy initiatives that advanced the interests of Canada's motoring community. He has also served with the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada and the Mining Association of Canada.

"With our new president at the handlebar, and by capitalizing on growing partnerships and by drawing on the collective experience of the volunteer Board of Directors, the MCC will move forward aggressively on the outreach front, expand our national presence and sharpen our advocacy focus. This is one vital key to enhancing member value - and creating value for members is MCC's primary objective - and will remain so," added Jansen.
