From the Westwood Motorcycle Racing Club
VANCOUVER, BC -- In light of the Next Level Superbike school being accepted as an official Westwood Motorcycle Racing Club accredited course, Scotty Borthwick has announced that he will be stepping down as promotions director for the WMRC in 2005. He is making the move in an effort to avoid conflict of interest concerns.
Kim St. Pierre has been appointed promotions director.
Borthwick is the founding member of the Next Level Superbike School. He is assisted in this endeavour by Dat Louie, owner of Action Riding School. The WMRC will recognize licenses of Next Level Superbike School graduates as Novices, and they may compete at Mission Raceway.
The classroom and bike prep sessions will be held at Action's school in Surrey. The mock race track sessions will be held at Boundary Bay. The road race track sessions will be held at Mission Raceway. The dates of schools will be announced by Next Level Superbike School at a later date.
The full 2005 WMRC executive is as follows: President -- Al Beck; Past President -- Rick Johnson; Vice President -- Stephan Medlicott; Secretary -- Gerry Cerny; Treasurer -- Bruce Matthews; Promotions & Public Relations -- Kimberley St. Pierre.
