RallyConnex rides draw near

From RallyConnex

The TTT to Blue ride is set to go this Saturday, June 21. A great route is planned, starting on Saturday morning at Tractor Turf and Trail, just off Hwy 9 east of Orangeville, ON.

There is plenty of parking for vehicles. Riders will cover almost 300km of ground on this one-day loop that will take riders through the Terra Nova and Creemore areas, up for a view off the edge of the Niagara escarpment just south of picturesque Blue Mountain in Collingwood. The tour returns back to TTT around 4pm.

Fire access roads and trails, road allowances and some of the twistiest gravel roads around are all linked together to provide a full day of riding. There are many scenic vistas to enjoy as the ride winds its way up, down and along the escarpment.

There is an aggressive loop and a stock tire loop. Both groups shadow each other all day, and both will have sweep crews to following the groups. The support truck can be called in if needed.

Those who are entered in the Paris to Dacre Dualsport challenge may want to take this opportunity to either ride as a team, or simply get to know how to navigate using our routing system. At just over one third the distance of the P2D it will give riders a good idea of what to expect next month.

The sign in and downloading of routes will start at 7:30 am. There will be a riders meeting and door prize draw at 8:30 and everyone should be gone by 9:00.

The address for TTT is east of Orangeville on Hwy 9, go a couple of miles east until you reach the 2nd line on the north side of the highway, they are up the second line by 200 yards.
The lunch stop is around 12:30 at the Dam Pub in Thornbury (http://www.thedampub.ca/).

The Paris to Dacre event on July 12 is a dual sport challenge event designed to honour and mimic the achievements of the competitors of the real DAKAR Rally in Europe and Africa and to recognize the extraordinary efforts of our Canadian entrants.

The Paris to Dacre Ontario (P2D) ride is an example of what each competitor has to complete every day for the complete duration of the rally. This is the third time this event has been held. Teams of three to five will start at 4 am and spend the next 16 hours negotiating the 750km of GPS routes that will take them from Paris, ON to Dacre, ON.

Other events this summer include the Mosport Superbike Tour (July 18-20), the Beef Run (Aug. 23-24) and the Corduroy Enduro GPS Adventure day (Sept. 20-21).

More information on all these events is available at http://www.rallyconnex.com/
