DARTMOUTH, NS – Defending USPGRU 250GP champion, and current series points leader Adam Roberts has been accepted as a wild card entrant in the upcoming Red Bull Indianapolis GP.

Roberts, originally from Halifax, will compete in the 250cc support class of the MotoGP World Championship to be held at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway circuit Aug. 28-30.

“I can’t express how excited I am to be given this opportunity,” Roberts said. “It’s really a dream come true for me, and it’s been a long time in the making. We’ve spent countless hours and a lot of money to make this happen, and to be accepted to ride at this level is incredible.”

The 24-year-old will be the only Canadian in the 250cc field, and is proud to be carrying the Canadian flag at an international event.

“I’ve been working hard on my fitness, and doing a lot of training. I’ll be ready to ride my butt off for all the Canadian fans.

“As far as the bike goes, I think it will be ready as well,” continued Roberts about his RAT Racing Yamaha TZ250. “We will be spending some time before the event making some changes and adjustments to make sure it’s ready.”

Roberts’ 2009 sponsors include Remote Access Technology (RAT), Pro Cycle (procycleonline.com), Kimpex, Ipone and Fox Eyewear.
