Szoke takes Canadian Trials title

NOTRE DAME DE LA MERCI, QC -- Jordan Szoke rode his new Gas Gas Raga 300 he received just a few days on the final day to win the Canadian Trials Championship in Notre Dame de la Merci, QC on Sunday.

Szoke completed the rainy day with only 66 points to win day two of the trial and capture the Canadian Motorcycle Association's Observed Trials Championship after he also won day one on Saturday. Past Champion Jonathan English was second again Sunday with 88 points, placing him second overall.

Szoke started riding Observed Trials before he started school but showed some promise on a road race motorcycle and eventually pursued that discipline. From Quebec the Brantford, ON racer is heading to Schubenacadie, NS to compete in the sixth round of the Parts Canada Superbike Championship and attempt to extend his lead in both Superbike and Yoshimura Pro Sport Bike classes.

That race is next weekend, with the season finale at Shannonville Labour Day Weekend.
