Cuthbertson sweeps Corner Grass event

From Husaberg Racing

Corner Grass Race Team riders Shane Cuthbertson and Cole Dobovich dominated the fourth annual Corner Grass Harescramble held June 26 in Compeer, AB.

Over 225 riders competed at the event throughout the weekend and were treated to an epic course consisting of an 8km grass track, Beginner and Expert level endurocross tracks, and a newly constructed motocross section.

The competition was split into two, one-hour moto sessions with combined scores determining the overall standings. Cuthbertson, fresh off another class win in the +30A class at Round 5 of the US National Enduro series held in Upton, WY, was raring to go and prove that he is ready for the upcoming Canadian Enduro Championship (CEC) series, which opens this weekend in Coleman, AB. Things went according to plan as he went 1–1 for the weekend in the Pro class and took the overall.

“I am so pumped to have finally won this event," he said. "It was not easy as I was under considerable pressure from my arch nemesis, Jason Schrage in the last moto, but I held on and gained a lot of confidence in my conditioning and bike set-up. I am 100 percent ready to go for the CEC’s.”

In only his second race in the Expert division, 16-year-old Dobovich absolutely destroyed the competition in each moto and easily put his Husaberg FX 450 on top of the podium.

“I am really happy to have won today by such a large margin and it was a great experience to battle with several well respected Pro competitors in both motos," he said. "I cannot wait for the upcoming CEC’s.”
