RICHMOND HILL, ON -- The 13th Annual Fall Classic Motorcycle Show will be presented by the Great Pine Ridge section of the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group (CVMG) Sept. 18 at Richmond Green (Main Building).

The CVMG is a club of motorcycle enthusiasts interested in preserving vintage motorcycles. Started in 1967 the Group now has over 1,700 members across Canada. The Great Pine Ridge section has over 150 members from Toronto and surrounding areas east of Yonge Street into Durham Region and north reaching into York Region.

A special Vincent motorcycle display will be one of the highlights of the Show, featuring a rare 1951 Series C Black Shadow, valued at over $50,000. It was on a specially prepared version of this legendary bike that Rollie Free set the land speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1948 lying flat against the tank wearing only his bathing trunks and a bathing cap. His top speed record of 150 MPH held for many years. The production model 1000cc V-twin Black Shadow had a top speed of 125 MPH and was known as the "superbike” of its day.

Vincent ceased motorcycle production in 1955 with only 1507 Series C Black Shadows produced between 1949 and 1954 of which it is estimated that less than 10 reside in Canada. This is a rare opportunity to see this restored classic machine along with other models of this prestigious marque as part of the Fall Classic line up.

Richmond Green is located at 1300 Elgin Mills Road East, just west of Leslie Street. The show runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults, children under 12 are admitted free. The Richmond Green
facility features ample free parking.
