Motopark lowers the volume

From Motopark

CHATSWORTH, ON -- Motopark has implemented new sound limits for off road motorcycles. The limits will be in effect for any sanctioning body holding events at Motopark as well as attendees of its Motocross Academy, summer camps, practice riders and users of its various tracks and trails.

Motopark will conduct sound tests this summer and effective with the start of the 2007 season will limit noise levels to 96 db. This is the guideline established by the FIM (2006 level is 98 db). The guidelines for testing and levels can be found at www.fim.ch under Motocross Rules and Regulations.

Motopark CEO Carl Bastedo commented that Motopark was taking this position re decibel levels as a pro-active measure designed to help create a more positive public response to off road riding areas throughout North America. He would like to acknowledge the work of Justin Moore of Ignition Racing in Ajax, ON and Barry Heatherington of SJG Fourwinds Motocross Park located near Port Perry, ON, who have done extensive testing on Ignition Racing's soon to be released “dB DAWG” muffler plug, which will help Motopark and other off road riding parks attain reduced sound levels.
