ABBOTSFORD, BC -- Gateway Powersports of Abbotsford, BC has announced a five-rider road racing team that will compete for the WMRC Championships in 2005.
With support from Canadian Kawasaki, Gateway Powersports is pleased announce several new additions to its race team, including WMRC Pro racer and Next Level Superbike School owner Scotty Borthwick, rising WMRC Amateur prospect Trevor Shires and 1995-250GP FIM/Scandinavian Champion Andreas Fritzner. All three will pilot Kawasaki’s all-new 600 Ninja. Returning for his third season on the Gateway Powersports Racing Supermotard is WMRC Amateur Scott Ponuick.
Suzuki Canada and Gateway Powersports Racing are pleased to also announce that they will sponsor AMA regular and 2004 OMRRA champion Alan Schmidt in 2005. Schmidt will compete on Suzuki’s GSX-R600 and all new GSX-R1000 in all WMRC/OMRRA events and select Parts Canada/AMA events in 2005.
