RODNEY, ON -- Perfect weather greeted riders in Rodney, ON at Rodney Moto Valley for the most recent CMRC Ontario event of the 2005 season last weekend. The dry weather that led up to this race forced the hard working track crew to work overtime. They delivered a high quality race, their best to date, for the riders from all over Ontario.
In GP Pro-Am action Hully Gully Yamaha ace Kyle Snelgrove decimated the field aboard his potent Yamaha 450F in the two grueling 25-minute motos. Behind Snelgrove, Chris Colenutt rode his AXO-backed Honda to a head turning 2-2 finish, for second overall. The battle behind him was tight between Chad Valenti (third overall), Ryan McFarlan (fourth overall), Bill White (fifth overall) and 14-year-old Suzuki mounted Kurtis Jack (sixth overall).
Racing was exciting in all classes. Suzuki-mounted Jolene Van Vugt took the overall in Womens action ahead of Edge Performance's Codi-Rae Ingram and WCK's Kim Emery.
Hully Gully/KR Communications' Kyle Ward was untouchable in 80cc 12-16 and Supermini action with perfect 1-1-1-1 finishes.
Riders were impressed by the improvements made at Rodney Moto Valley. The water system, enhanced track and improved pits were obvious.
“We are trying, and we are glad the riders see it. By the next race we want the watering system to be further improved, and we will have the compost added,” commented promoter Ed Roodzant. “We hope all the riders spread the positive comments we heard today.”
Rodney Moto Vally is open all year for practices, and will hold another CMRC race on July 10.
CMRC action moves to Auburn Hills Raceway this coming weekend for the second Motovan.com Amateur National Qualifier. For more information contact the CMRC at 905-642-5607, or visit www.cmrcracing.com.
