Summer festival launched

From the CIMF

Toronto, ON – Canada will finally get its own indoor/outdoor summer international motorcycle festival next July, when the Canadian International Motorcycle Festival (CIMF) opens to visitors at Downsview Park in Toronto.

CIMF will offer visitors a comprehensive showcase of motorcycles, scooters and ATVs made by the industry’s major original equipment manufacturers. It will also feature “how to” workshops, rider training, aftermarket accessories and the opportunity to demo ride motorcycles and scooters right on site. In addition, dealers from all manufacturers will be present to allow visitors to purchase motorcycles, ATVs and scooters at the festival.

“The list of OEMs participating is growing each month as we reach their fiscal year and planning cycles for 2006,” said CIMF director Kevin MacDonald. “Right now we already have Aprilia, BMW, Honda, Husaberg, Pagsta, Suzuki,Yamaha, Vespa and Arctic Cat involved.”

But the festival is designed to be about more than just bikes. Live entertainment, a motocross arena and a race paddock will provide universal enjoyment for people of all ages and interests, whether or not they ride. The festival is designed to cater to children and adults alike with many family-oriented attractions.

This week marks the launch of CIMF’s website – www.cimf.ca. For your convenience further updates, frequently asked questions and event information are available on the website.

CIMF has received MMIC’s support as well as the support of the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada.
