Supercross schedule finalized

From Clear Channel Entertainment

AURORA, IL -- Clear Channel Entertainment – Motor Sports and AMA Pro Racing announced the 2005-2006 THQ World Supercross GP/THQ AMA Supercross Series race schedule. The schedule features some familiar venues and one historic new one.

“Once again we are delighted to bring the world’s fastest growing motorsport to some of the most prestigious stadiums around the country and into Canada,” said Charlie Mancuso, president, Clear Channel Entertainment – Motor Sports. “The markets we will play in this year will allow tremendous exposure for the sponsors, the riders, the teams and the sport in general.”

The new stop on the schedule is Detroit’s Ford Field, which was completed in August, 2002 and is home to the NFL’s Detroit Lions. The $500 million dollar facility has 65,000 seats and is in the heart of downtown Detroit. A sprawling 1.85 million square feet stadium, Ford Field has four levels of suites and a seven story atrium.
