HardNox riders enjoy productive outing

From HardNox Racing

CALGARY, AB -- After a challenging opening weekend for HardNox Racing in Round One of the Western Canadian Championship at Mission, BC May 16-17, the team returned home to kick off the CMRA season at Race City Motorsports Park a week later.

Saturday practice went well for most of the team but Rob Darlington did suffer a crash. Going into the 160km/h first turn he missed a shift and crashed, suffering a concussion and broken right pinkie finger. However he was able to race on Sunday.

Sunday dawned with beautiful weather. The first rider to take to the grid was Claude Bergeron in the BGPR Schools Heavyweight Amateur race. Bergeron got a great start from the middle of the grid and had an exciting battle in the middle of the pack all race long.

After lunch the whole team lined up for the Middleweight Sportbike race. Darlington, Curtis Lindenbach and Colin Foster were gridded a little farther back from their usual front row positions.

Darlington and Lindenbach ended up battling each other for most of the race while Foster fought hard to get into the top 10. Bergeron too was fighting for a top 10 in Amateur.

Race two saw the HardNox Expert riders competing in the Mountain Toys Middleweight Superbike race. After a great start Darlington and Lindenbach fought all race long with some new Experts for the top five positions.

HardNox had a productive weekend becoming acclimatized to the new Bridgestone race tires and new motorcycles. With Round One under their belts they are very optimistic for Round Two.
