No New Jersey for Szoke

From Waznie Racing

BRANTFORD, ON -- Seven-time Canadian National Superbike champion and five-time Sport Bike champ Jordan Szoke has withdrawn from round nine of the AMA American Superbike Championship at New Jersey Motorsports Park this weekend.

Unsuccessful negotiations for extra sponsorship have forced the Brantford, ON racer to unfortunately cancel his trip to Thunderbolt Raceway located near Millville, NJ.

“I am tremendously disappointed we aren’t going to be there,” said Szoke “We were so close to getting things right while we were in Mid-Ohio and Virginia it’s a shame we aren’t competing, although we really need some continued support financially to make that happen. It was a choice of fixing my leaking roof or go to New Jersey. Unfortunately winters are long here in Canada and the house took priority this time.”

Szoke competed in the US series at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Virginia International Raceway, where he ran in the top 10.

“I still want to compete in the AMA series,” he said. “That is where my focus for my career always has been, and always will be. We will continue to remain focused to make that happen this season and in the following seasons to come.”

Szoke and his Waznie Racing Ciclo Werks BMC Honda team are regrouping to compete in the final round of the AMA American Superbike Championship at the prestigious Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL Sept. 24-26.
