Pedrosa opens fastest at Aragon

From motogp.com

Casey Stoner led the second MotoGP practice at Aragón on Friday afternoon and did so in the wet as conditions dictated the pace of the 45-minute run.

Stoner, who was fourth in the dry morning session, went round in a best time of 2:01.710 on his final lap in the afternoon practice as the MotoGP field’s continued adaptation to the new circuit took place in a less welcoming weather setting.

Jorge Lorenzo (Fiat Yamaha) was second in the session at 0.568 secs. off Stoner with his Ducati team-mate Nicky Hayden third and the final rider to get within a second of the Australian.

Valentino Rossi (Fiat Yamaha) was fourth at 1.168 secs. off Stoner, with Marco Melandri (San Carlo Honda Gresini) and Andrea Dovizioso (Repsol Honda) completing the top six in a cautious session.

Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) placed 13th but little could be read into his placement as he came in early and the Spaniard remained the quickest of the day thanks to his earlier session time, with the FP1 times of Hayden and Lorenzo maintaining their top-three status across both sessions.

With no one able to go faster than their morning laps it meant that the day was closed with Stoner, Marco Simoncelli (San Carlo Honda Gresini) and Rossi completing the six quickest riders of the day.
