'Cord' set for small screen

By John Hopkins

The BEMC & Haliburton Trail Riders Assoc. have revealed there will be TV coverage of this weekend's Corduroy Enduro.

Dave Hatch's 'Motorcycle Experience' will be taping at the event for an episode expected to air next January.

In other event news, past Cord champion and motorcycle icon John Penton is reportedly bringing his 1950's era NSU to compete in the event. This is apparently the same motorcycle he won on.

His son Jack Penton will compete on a Penton in the vintage class, giving Helmut Clasen and his Hercules some competition.

The Pentons will also be guest speakers at the Saturday night dinner.

This year's Corduroy Enduro, the 57th edition of the storied event, will be based out of the Gooderham Community Centre in Gooderham, ON and will feature a $1,000 first place prize in the Pro class. Registration is Friday and competition will start at 10:00am Saturday and 8:30am Sunday.
