Canard continues win streak

By John Hopkins

DAYTONA BEACH, FL -- Torco Racing Fuels Honda rider Trey Canard scored his third straight AMA Supercross Lites East victory at a wet and treacherous Daytona Supercross by Honda Friday night.

Canard led all 10 laps of the race, which was shortened from 15 laps due to the conditions, finishing 10.263 secs. ahead of Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villipoto. Matt Boni placed third on his DNA Energy Drink Honda.

"Going into it, I knew the start was going to be huge because of the vision thing and getting roosted," Canard said. "If you can't see where you're going, it's hard to go anywhere. Getting a good start was huge."

Canard now has a perfect 75 points after three of the seven rounds of the East Lites series. Ryan Sipes is second in the standings with 51 points after finishing sixth Friday on his MDK KTM.

Kemptville, ON's Tyler Medaglia failed to qualify for the Lites Main on his SuzukiCity/OTSFF/Rockstar Suzuki after finishing seventh in the Last Chance Qualifier.
