Glenn joins Ferreira on BMW team

From BMW Motorrad Canada

BMW Motorrad Canada is pleased to announce the addition of Paul Glenn to the BMW Motorrad Canada Thunder Team. Glenn, formerly a rider with Go Big Racing, won the 2007 National Amateur 600cc Sport Bike Championship.

Glenn brings with him a solid background of various motorcycle road racing experiences including 600cc Sport Bike, SV Cup and International experience in the Moto-ST series.

“We are very excited to be adding Paul to the BMW Motorrad team,” stated Norm Wells, Director of BMW Motorrad Canada. “With Paul’s experience in the Moto-ST series and SV Cup here in Canada, it should make for an easier time transitioning to the BMW HP2 Sport.”

Both Mike Ferreira and Glenn will compete in the Canadian Thunder Championship aboard the new 2009 BMW HP2 Sport, the new air-cooled sport twin being launched at Canadian retailers later this year. The HP2 Sport is the sportiest boxer ever to be introduced by BMW Motorrad and the same motorcycle that competed in the World Endurance Series in Europe last season.

Ferreira is back with the BMW Motorrad Canada Thunder Team for his second year and looking to improve upon his sixth place finish in the 2007 championship.

“Having Ferreira back again this year, a former Pro 600 Sport Bike Regional Champion and adding Glenn, a National Amateur 600cc Champion, the BMW Thunder Team is well stocked with young Canadian talent," said Chris Duff, Marketing Manager for BMW Motorrad Canada. “We are very proud to be promoting up and coming local riders with our National Canadian Thunder Road Racing Program.”

The BMW Motorrad Canada Thunder Team is proud to have returning sponsors Parts Canada, HJC Helmets, Alpinestar, DP Brakes, Pirelli and Original BMW Parts on board for another season of racing in the National Canadian Thunder Championship.
