From Brian Naylor
A five-race North American Mini Roadrace Can-Am Championship Challenge (NAMRCC) has been unveiled for 2008. This challenge is the only North American mini road race championship that runs across country borders and with local club support. The three US rounds are hosted by three clubs (NMRRA, SMRRC, SCminiGP) while the two Canadian rounds run in conjunction with the Canadian mini road racing series (CNMRA).
"With the success and level that Mini Road Racing has achieved in North America and the club synergy in the Western states and Canadian provinces, the timing is perfect for such a series. I feel the Can-Am Cup will be a great success. This will also be a great way to crown the North American Honda NSR Cup Champion," explained Jay Fox, President, AMRA and CNMRA.
In addition Fox has personally stepped up for those Americans willing to head to Canada.
"Fox Family Roadracing, organizers of the AMRA, and Motorcycle Tire Service will support any podium finishing adult racer from a US club who is looking to travel to Canada with a factory stock NSR50 outfitted with Dunlop TT91's for use at each Canadian round of the Can-Am Cup," he said. "Contact amra@shaw.ca to reserve your NSR, limited numbers available."
Series dates are April 19-20, Stockton, CA, Hosted by SMRRC; June 28-31, Calgary, AB, Hosted by AMRA as part of the CNMRA series; July 26-27, Abbotsford, BC, Hosted by PCMRA as part of the CNMRA series; Sept. 13-14, McMinnville, OR, Hosted by NMRRA; Oct. 4-5, Fontana, CA, Hosted by SCMiniGP.
