Schrage wins western opener

Jason Schrage of Diamond City, AB won the opening round of the CMA Western Canadian Hare Scrambles Series in Compeer, AB on June 21.

The KTM rider was chased home in the Pro class by Calgary's Aaron Christensen on a Yamaha and Noel Bolso on a KTM.

Yamaha rider Jason Paradis of Caroline, AB placed fourth and Lethbridge KTM rider Nick Schrage was fifth.

Troy Ritchie of Lacombe, AB won the Expert class on a Honda and Innisfail, AB's Darryl Robin led a KTM sweep of the top four spots in Intermediate.

Other class winners were Stan Bakgaard of Calgary (Vet Expert, Yamaha), Gary Taylor from Cochrane, AB (Veteran, Suzuki), Doug Holmes of Red Deer (Super Veteran, Yamaha), Cole Dobovich of Provost, AB (Novice, Honda) and Kurt Layton of Calgary (Youth, Kawasaki).
