Supermoto opener called off

From Team Suzuki / Rockstar / OTSFF

The first round of the CMRC Supermoto Nationals had its ups and downs last weekend.

Practice was scheduled for Saturday with racing on Sunday. Saturday's practice was a hit with nice weather and a specatator attendance of 3,000 people.

Unfortunately the skies opened up that night and heavy rains deemed the track “not safe” for racing.

“It was a shame," said Suzuki’s Peter Marcelli. "The event had all the potential to be great. I mean I’ve never seen 3000 people show up to watch practice.”

Marcelli’s pace was was good enough to be in the top three last weekend.

The series resumes in Parry Sound, ON this weekend. The course will be set up at Parry Sound's beautiful waterfront and will be in conjuction with the Sport Bike Rally.
