Roy increases Supercross role

From the Supermotocross de Montreal

MONTREAL, QC - The Supermotocross Monster Energy presented by Coors Light and Parts Canada/Thor, to be held Oct. 2 at the Montréal Olympic Stadium, has announced that Canadian motocross champion Jean-Sébastien Roy has accepted and will assume an additional role with the organizing team. Named technical director of the event last year and also working on the design of the race course, the popular former rider known as JSR will now also act as official spokesperson of the event.

"There is no one better than Jean-Sébastien to communicate to media and to the general public the essence of the Supermotocross Monster Energy," said Pierre Corbeil, promoter of the event. "He knows all of the categories and the majority of the riders and his eyes gleam when he talks about the sport he loves so much. We could not really entrust such a function to anyone else. When it is time to talk with authority about motocross, Jean-Sébastien transmits knowledge and enthusiasm."

"I have experienced some of the greatest moments of my career at the Montréal Supermotocross. Each year, when I return to the Olympic Stadium, it feels like playing at home, in my own backyard," said the one who has five wins and has climbed the steps of the podium nine times at the Montréal event.

"Even if I have put an end to my professional career, I am still very much involved in motocross all year round. Besides riding my motor bike on a regular basis, I love to teach young riders and assist the most talented young hopes during race weekend. I also enjoy designing tracks and my responsibilities as technical director of the Supermotocross are fascinating. Now to be called on to address the media on a regular basis about such an exceptional event is another great challenge that I look forward to do."

The most-coveted seats for the Supermotocross Monster Energy, as well as all reserved seating, are on sale and ticket prices range from $10.00, $19.00, to $29.00 and $39.00. They are available at Admission (www.admission.com or by calling (514) 790-1245 or 1 800 361-4595). Tickets are also available at participating motorcycle dealers from all regions of Quebec.
