Lim and Ralph join CMA board

From the Canadian Motorcycle Association

HAMILTON, ON -- Joseph Godsall, president of the Canadian Motorcycle Association has announced the appointment of Hugh Lim of Ajax, ON as board member for Ontario, and Holly Ralph of Hamilton as Director At Large.

Mr. Lim will complete the term of Sean Wiesner, who resigned last February. Both will serve until the 2009 Annual Meeting.

Ralph has been involved in motorcycling for almost 50 years and a member of the CMA for 22 years. She has a current FIM licence as Environmental Steward. Having retired after 30 years of teaching Special Education students, she now has more time to enjoy riding and travels between 10,000 and 20,000 km each year by herself.

She has an extensive history of volunteering at motorcycle events as chief timer and scorer for hundreds of races in the '80s and now extensively at motorcycle rallies, including as committee chair at this year’s BMWMOA National Rally in Gillette, WY.

Lim is a CMA Life Member (1957) and has been continuously involved in all aspects of motorcycling from the beginning. His major contributions have included being a member of the board of directors of the Ontario Trails Council for five years, representing motorcycles and ATV’s. As a member of Oshawa Competition Motorcycle Club he has been involved in the organizing of Hare Scrambles and Enduros.

While a member of the Nortown Motorcycle Club Board, he organized and worked on road races, motocross and enduros. He has provided workers for CMA dirt tracks and helped lay out the Corduroy Enduro for eight years; working at that event every year since 1962.

Godsall remarked, “we are honoured that these two highly qualified individuals have decided to contribute their expertise to the operation of the CMA and look forward to working with them very much."
