Canadian Speedway Racing Association Press and Practice Day

From The Canadian Speedway Racing

The Canadian Speedway Racing Association would like to officially announce that on Saturday, May 9, 2009 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at the Paris Speedway track, Silver Street, Paris, Ontario, we will be holding a “Press and Practice Day” for all local media outlets to attend and view the amazingly fast speedway action for the beginning of the 2009 campaign.

We would like to formally invite all local media organizations to attend this event to discover the sport of speedway racing. Riders of all ages racing methanol-fueled machines that have no gears, no brakes, and reaching speeds of 100 k/ph in 3 seconds!!! A fun-filled sport with lots of action where a four-lap race lasts less than one minute with bikes sliding sideways!

The introduction and partnership of the CMRC for 2009 is very welcomed by the Canadian Speedway Racing Association. We are very excited and look forward to the events being a top-class level under CMRC sanctioning. This is a superb opportunity for the sport of speedway racing to grow under this new direction!

The inclusion of a new Junior Speedway Class is actively being introduced for 2009, with riders less than 16 years old being studied and directed to head this new growth. This will provide us with a huge opportunity to groom these youngsters into the steps to enter the world stage of riding for Canada; a very exciting venture, which is also seeking a corporate sponsor to allow for the needed growth. If anyone can assist in the development in this program, please contact Mr. Scott Collier via our website

Our 2009 schedules are now posted on our website, as well as information for our speedway school, where new and inexperienced riders can have a go on a speedway bike for a cost of only $150.00!
