New cross-border Supermoto series

From 408 Racing

A new international championship is coming to the sport of motorcycle racing this summer initiated by the grassroots supermoto community. Four promoters, 408 Racing, the Eastern SuperMoto Racing Association (ESMRA), Mécaglisse Québec and MISuperMoto, have banded together to present the first-ever Canadian-American Supermoto Championship.

The Canadian-American Supermoto Championship will have Pro, Amateur and Novice classes. Select rounds will also include ATV racing. Thousands of dollars will be up for grabs. Pros from the East coast, Midwest and Canada who may race include names such as Dave Arnold, the Beattie brothers, Aaron Mc Donald, Mark Burkhart, Jason Colon, Chase Guthrie, Andrew Hyder, Ryan Kerr, Timm Kiener and Johnny Lewis.

The same points system will be used by the four promoters to determine the class champions. Each race will be run by the individual promoter, and for 408 Racing, ESMRA and MISuperMoto their events will also be part of separate regional championships.

Race entry and spectator fees and race day schedule will be determined by each promoter. Each class is open to any size motorcycle that is set-up for supermoto. Competitors must be at least 16 years of age at the time of the first event in order to qualify for the championship.

The schedule is as follows:
June 13-14 Batavia International Motorsports Park, Batavia, NY (ESMRA)
June 27-28* Shannonville Motorsport Park, Shannonville, ON (408 Racing)
July 18-19* BeaveRun Motorsports Complex, Wampum, PA (ESMRA)
