Jonathan English secured the CMA Ontario Trials Championship with a second place finish at the season finale in St. George, ON last weekend.

The Belleville, ON rider finished second in the event to his good friend Jordan Szoke, but that was enough to capture the overall crown.

Szoke and English battled for first throughout the St. George competition, which was held in damp and tricky riding conditions. Only nine points separated the two heading into the third and final loop but Szoke was able to win with a final score of 45 to the 63 of English.

“I rode really well today,” said Brantford, ON's Szoke, who in August locked up the CMA national title, “although I had two unnecessary '5s' in the second and third loop, which would have bettered my score a bit. I am really liking my new [GasGas] Raga; the stiffer frame is allowing me to be a bit more aggressive in the sections.”
