From the AMA Supermoto Championship
MONROE, WA – WHR Motorsports is ready to host the opening round of the 2008 XTRM / AMA Supermoto Championship season this Friday and Saturday, July 4-5, at the Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA.
The Inaugural Bob Lanphere's Renton Motorcycle Company / Downtown Harley-Davidson Battle of Seattle marks the first time the AMA Supermoto Championship has visited the state of Washington.
The first round of the six-round Supermoto Series will set the stage for the ESPN Summer X Games, as non-seeded Supermoto riders will have the opportunity to qualify for their chance at winning an X Games medal, Aug. 1-2.
Defending champions Mark Burkhart (450 Premier Class), Ben Carlson (Unlimited Class) and Brandon Currie (250 Lites Class) will have their hands full, as riders like David Pingree, Cassidy Anderson, Carey Hart, Chris Fillmore and Kurt Nicoll look to play the spoiler once the 2008 season gets underway.
Tickets can be purchased at the Evergreen Speedway, or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets are also available at any Ticketmaster outlets.
For more information, visit the race website at www.evergreenspeedway.com. For information on the top riders and the race series, visit www.xtrm.com/supermoto or the AMA Supermoto website at www.amasupermoto.com.
