Paris makes Daytona 200 entry

From Markbilt Racebikes

Markbilt Racebikes has announced rookie AMA Superbike Series road racer Melissa Paris’ entry into the 2009 Daytona 200.

Riding a GYTR-sponsored Yamaha YZF-R6, Paris will not only be fighting for positions on the race track, but will also be racing towards a donation goal of $5000 that will support the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation. The Foundation works to eradicate breast cancer and improve the quality of women's health through innovative research, education, and advocacy.

“I think that competing in the Daytona 200 will be a perfect opportunity to bring attention to such an important cause and to raise valuable funds for research," Paris said. "It seems to me, like too often the fight against Breast Cancer is a woman’s cause. In reality this disease affects everybody, men included. After all, every man has a mother, a sister, a girlfriend, a wife, or a daughter who may be challenged by it. That’s why I think this race will be a great chance to bring awareness to this fight.”

Donations can be made to the Dr. Susan Love Foundation by visiting http://www.firstgiving.com/melissaparis.

Fans can also lend support to Paris' race team effort by using the Paypal link on her website www.melissaparis.com. She is supported by JHR - Josh Hayes Racing, Markbilt Racebikes, GYTR, Pirelli Tires, Nomadic Cycle Supply, Pilot racing leathers and LeoVince Exhaust.
