EDMONTON, AB -- Under sunny skies and crisp weather, Castrol Raceway in Edmonton saw the Western and Eastern V-Rod Destroyer teams reunite to hold their final rounds of the season on Sept. 13-14. The Canadian Motorcycle Drag Racing Association All Bike Drag Series was presented by Drag Specialties/Parts Canada and the Harley-Davidson Retailers of Alberta.
Qualifying on Saturday for the Western V-Rod Destroyer races put Nick Allen from Redline Harley-Davidson into good standing as the fastest qualifier, with an elapsed time of 9.476, while reaching a speed of 139.01 mph.
In the meantime, Mike Duncan, racing for Kitchener Harley-Davidson, was the fastest qualifier for the Eastern V-Rod Destroyer races, with an ET of 9.593 and a speed of 136.3 mph.
In eliminations, Allen was the winner of the Western Screamin’ Eagle V-Rod Destroyer Series. His ET recorded as 9.640, with a speed of 136.28 mph.
Shaun Rude from Harley-Davidson Grande Prairie was the runner-up; however, Shaun red-lighted in the final round of eliminations.
In the Eastern eliminations, Duncan proved his tenacity and won the Eastern Screamin’ Eagle V-Rod Destroyer Series by achieving an impressive ET of 9.644 and speed of 134.20 mph. He was rivaled by Dave Bispo from Rocky’s Harley-Davidson/Buell, who reached a runner-up position with an ET of 9.743 and a speed of 132.46 mph.
