Three titles for Burroughs

Nik Burroughs of Langley, BC claimed three Canadian titles in the CMA National Supermoto Championship at the Tradex in Abbotsford, BC Aug. 24.

The Yamaha rider was victorious in Expert 450, Expert Unlimited and GP Masters.

Mission, BC's Glenn Nixon, also on Yamaha equipment, was runner-up to Burroughs in all three classes. Troy Burstyk of Surrey, BC placed third in Expert 450 and GP Masters on a Honda, Langley's Norm Olynyk completed a Yamaha sweep of the Expert Unlimited podium.

Victoria's Robin Lessard swept the Intermediate 450 and Unlimited championships on his Yamaha. In both classes Ian Leuenberger of Williams Lake, BC was second on a Kawasaki. Kyle Hammerquist of Vancouver placed third in Intermediate 450 riding a Honda and Williams Lake's Dave Klassen was third in Unllimited aboard a Kawasaki.

Nixon won the Veteran +30 National Championship, Klassen claimed the Canadian title in Supermoto Lites and KTM rider Kevin Thompson is the Novice and GP Novice champion, pending confirmation of his eligibility requirements.
