MacRae aims to defend indoor title

From the Alberta Mini RoadRacing Association

The 2009 Canadian National Indoor Mini RoadRacing Championship Series will take place in Calgary, Jan. 9-11 and Edmonton, Jan. 16-18. This unique Indoor Series hosted by the Alberta Mini RoadRacing Association (AMRA) features athletes from seven years of age to 56, male and female, as they vie for one of three National Titles.

Some 140 racers from Canada, the United States and Australia will compete on identically set-up organizer supplied motorcycles.

The AMRA has added a "Superstar Challenge" to its 2009 line up. This class is specially designed to thrill the fans as several Canadian Superbike racers challenge each other on the polished cement indoor race tracks. Jordan Szoke, Clint McBain, Brett McCormick, Steve Crevier, Don Munroe, Darren James and Dave Estok have all confirmed their participation.

In 2008 Darrel MacRae of Calgary, the oldest registered competitor, earned the Canadian National Indoor Mini Roadracing Series Open Main title. The 57-year-old will be back to defend his crown.
