New sponsorship for Harley-Davidson

From Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada

CONCORD, ON – Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada has announced a new official headgear sponsorship of one of the 2008-2009 Canadian Alpine Ski Team members. This two-year commitment to Michael Janyk is very well aligned with its Buell brand as the following for both motorcycle and alpine ski racing in Canada shares similar demographical traits.

Alpine ski racing is a common denominator between Don James (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer) and Malcolm Hunter (President and Chief Operating Officer). Both men are equally passionate about this sport, and are proud to have this opportunity to sponsor Janyk.

Since his debut in November 1997, Janyk’s professional alpine ski racing career has seen him through 50 World Cup starts, 35 Europa Cup starts, as well as an Olympic Winter Games start.

He has competed in various disciplines and specializes in the technical disciplines, which include slalom and giant slalom. To date, his career highlights have included securing a second place spot on the podium in 2006 at the FIS World Cup in Beaver Creek, CO, as well as a 17th position in slalom at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games.

Janyk has just kicked off his season in Levi, Finland, and his next race will be in Beaver Creek on Dec. 4.
