Erzbergrodeo XIV

From Erzbergrodeo Press/Media Services

This year the biggest off road motorcycle happening in the world boasts of even more astonishing records and superlatives! More top level riders, more competitors than ever.

1500 fearless bikers from 32 nations even stretch the limits of the Iron Giant! Five weeks out from the Erzbergrodeo the race is fully booked. In its 14th year of existence a record-breaking 1500 riders are willing to take up the challenge of the Erzberg. The organizers had to adapt to this enormous number of competitors. Sophisticated timekeeping with transponders, a second paddock as well as an even bigger Erzberg-Arena to name but a few improvements. More riders, more entourage, and more spectators - the Erzberg is prepared for things to come.

Tenfold US Trial champion Geoff Aaron is definitely one name to be reckoned with. His two-wheel driven Christini-KTM 300 EXC will certainly deliver - and gain him a Red Bull Hare Scramble finisher's spot.

The iconic Trial superstar has already proven his outstanding talent in several hardcore Enduro races. In 2007, he was the only one to go head to head with David Knight and Taddy Blazusiak in the Red Bull Last Man Standing and the Las Vegas Endurocross.

In the past, Aprilia riders always placed very well in the Iron Road Prologue. This year, the Italian brand takes no prisoners and sends no less than 4 top level riders to fight for victory in the most prestigious Enduro race in the world. Frenchmen Antoine Letellier and Nicolas Paganon, both known as serious contenders in the Enduro world championship and Italian Supermoto top-level rider Alex Zanotti will max it out on their RXV Twins.

Austrian homeboy Niki Stelzmüller, a regular top ten finisher in the Austrian Cross Country professional ranks will also gladly follow the call of the Erzberg. The 32-year-old rider from Upper Austria will give his all and best on his Aprilia RXV 450.
Junior Academy: Young talents wanted!

Erzbergrodeo has always been a formidable place for young talents to show off their skills before the very eyes of thousands of spectators and representatives of the motorcycle industry. David Knight, Cyril Despres and Polish wunderkind Taddy Blazusiak - they all took their chance at Erzbergrodeo and catapulted themselves into the limelight of attention.
