From RPM Racing
HAMILTON, ON -- Ross Millson of Hamilton, ON is proud to announce the launch of Canadian Motorcycle Road Racing team, RMP Racing. The team is owned and operated by Pro Superbike rider Millson and features up-and-coming 13-year-old road racer Steven Nickerson, also of Hamilton.
Last season Millson competed in the Parts Canada Superbike Championship where he had a strong Pro debut, finishing third in the Pro Rookie chase and 11th overall in Superbike final point standings. Additionally, Millson raced throughout the United States in the SunTrust Moto-ST Endurance Series, under the Go BIG Racing banner, where he and his teammate Paul Glenn finished the season with five podiums and second overall in the ST class championship.
This season Millson will focus on the Pro Superbike class aboard a Suzuki GSX-R1000, where he will carry the onboard camera for TSN's (www.tsn.ca) coverage of Canada's premier road racing series.
Last year Nickerson was chosen from over 600 applicants to compete for one of 20 spots in the 2008 RedBull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup, however just missed making the final cut. Nickerson will apply again for this prestigious opportunity later this season.
In 2008 Nickerson will be racing in 13 events in USGPRU, Can-Am and RACE, both in Canada and the US. Nickerson will also focus on the new Honda CBR125R Challenge aboard a Honda CBR125R.
Round 1 of the RACE regional CBR125R class will take place this weekend at Shannonville Motorsport Park.
RMP Racing is also pleased to announce its partial roster of sponsors for the 2008 racing season. Heading up the list is Summit Gearworks. This is the third consecutive season Summit Gearworks has been a supporter of Millson and his road racing endeavours.
“I'm extremely proud to once again have Summit as a key partner for 2008,” commented Millson. “It's been a wonderful partnership and we hope to be able to continue to promote Summit for many years to come.”
RMP Racing is pleased to welcome back website design and marketing specialists Infinet Designs, Ultimate Cycle, Bickle Tire Warmers and Turn 2 Sportbike Rentals, who have recently added ARC Level 2 to their rider training program.
RMP Racing is pleased to introduce Essential Image as the team's graphics supplier, and longtime motorsports supporters Lucas Oil and Motovan.
