Changes at CMRC Quebec

From Buddy Ford Productions

REPENTIGNY, QC -- After years of promoting Supermoto, Dirt Track and ATV Nationals Buddy Ford, the president of CMRC du Québec Inc., has decided to focus his energies more locally. Ford will put aside his duties as promoter of these three disciplines of motorsport and concentrate on his CMRC du Québec Inc. series of Motocross and ATV racing in the province of Quebec.

The lack of participation (riders and promoters) and financial support has pushed Ford to make this decision.

"As passionate as I am about the sport, running around for the last few years trying to get these disciplines to lift off the ground wasn't the best move for our company and we will now concentrate our efforts with what got us started in this business," said Ford.

Owned and operated by Ford and his wife Nathalie Boismenu, CMRC du Quebec Inc. promotes various forms of racing in the Province of Quebec. The couple will now focus their energies on improving and developing MX, ATV and various car events in Quebec. Still involved in promoting the CMRC Pro Motocross National, Ford will help the new group www.mxstethecle.com prepare its facility to host its first Pro National.

Canadian Supermoto events are scheduled this year for Shannonville, ON and various places in Quebec under a group of enthusiasts.

Ford isn't doing his Trois-Rivières dirt track event. The Erie Ramblers MC in Ontario will keep promoting its two events in Leamington and Wheatley, July 18-19 and Aug. 22-23. The Welland, ON MC will run a similar schedule as previous years. Shawn Ford (Buddy and Nathalie's son), will take a year off flat track racing for '09 and help the family concentrate on the development of its new permanent practice and event facility in Trois-Rivières. Opening is scheduled for May 2-3.
