HAMILTON, ON -- The Nova Scotia Off Road Rider Association has donated $2,500 to the 2009 Motocross of Nations Team and has provided additional funds to assist with the preparation of team member Mitch Cooke’s bike.

Cooke is from Brookfield, NS and will contest the Open class category.

Local riders and motocross supporters Scott Josey and Paul Wambolt were the driving forces behind these donations.

“It is always a struggle to find the funding to cover the costs of these international team projects and on behalf of the riders, Tyler Medaglia, Dean Wilson, Mitch Cooke, team manager Carl Bastedo and his assistant Andre Laurin, we thank and congratulate everyone involved in this fine demonstration of support for Team Canada 2009,” said CMA / CEO Marilynn Bastedo.

Individuals wishing to support Canada's MXoN team can find a pledge form at http://www.directmotocross.com. Inside Moto-X & Offroad magazine will offer a one-year subscription to the magazine to the first 50 people to donate a minimum of $25 to support Team Canada.

Donations can also be sent to Motocross of Nations Fund, 622794 Moto Park Rd, Chatsworth, ON, NOH 1GO.

The 63rd Motocross of Nations, FIM World Championship for national teams takes place in Franciacorta, Brescia, Italy on Oct. 3-4.
