THE BRUTALE 1078RR IS “BIKE OF THE YEAR 2008”

From MV Agusta

Varese – In the striking atmosphere of the Rocchetta courtyard in the Sforzesco Castle in Milan, over 500 guests attended the “Bike of the Year 2008” ceremony hosted by Motociclismo (a magazine with over 90 years of history) where the MV Agusta Brutale 1078RR claimed the overall title of Bike of the Year.

Along with the overall victory, the Brutale also won Best Bike in the naked category for the eighth year in a row, confirming its everlasting desirability. In this category the Brutale 1078RR beat some of the toughest competition on the market by obtaining 17% of the votes compared to 7% of the closest rival, the Ducati Monster 696, and 4% of the third-placed motorcycle, the BMW R1200R. The successful evening for the MV Agusta group was completed by the second place obtained by the Cagiva Mito SP525 in the 125 category.

During the prize ceremony at the tenth edition of Motociclismo’s Bike of the Year contest, President Claudio Castiglioni declared: “This is another important goal obtained by MV Agusta and a significant achievement that strengthens our image as manufacturers of beautiful motorcycles that are exclusive and technologically advanced. It’s a great satisfaction to see that motorcyclists appreciate the passion with which Italian manufacturers develop and design motorcycles that differentiate themselves internationally.”
